DO IT AGAIN!
So he went down and
plunged himself into the Jordan seven times, just as the man of God had said;
and his flesh was restored like that of a little child and he was clean. 2
Kings 5:14
And at the seventh time the servant said, “A cloud as
small as a man’s hand is coming up from the sea.” And Elijah said, “Go up, say
to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down, so that the rain shower does
not stop you.’” 1 Kings 18:44
As I was driving in my car a couple weeks ago, the story of
Naaman sprang up in my spirit. Most of
us look at that story in reference to healing, humility, and hope. Yet, I heard DO IT AGAIN!
Then I began type the title, these other passages began to
spring up. In 2 Kings 5, Elijah had the
servant go look to see if what he said was yet visible. Do you wonder if Naaman was looking at
himself as he dipped each time, was there any change at all after the first,
second time, fifth time, or did it all transform after the seventh time? When the children of Israel walked around the
walls of Jericho not on the seventh time but after the seventh time did God do
it. I believe the story of the king who
only struck three times angered the prophet.
When we knock on Heaven’s door for anything we are not only eliminating
the past, illuminating the present, but creating the future. So repetition is required in the same spot
until it manifest! What is what God told
you is not instantaneous but years or decades?
Then in Matthew 18 when asked about forgiveness Jesus said
seven times seventy. Of course, Jesus didn’t mean four hundred and ninety,
no! He meant as long as it’s presented
and needed it should be done.
I believe there are multiple things God is saying this year,
but I believe God is saying DO IT AGAIN!
GO Look again! Our faith gets
weary, but God says write another book, paint another picture, be intimate to
birth a child again, go back to school again.
You’re ready to throw in the towel and let go of the vision, promise,
but God says AGAIN. If we look at the
word aGAIN, there is a lot to GAIN when we do it again!
What would have happened if Sarah and Abraham had not tried
again? Noah just stayed in the Ark after
the flood, but he didn’t send the dove out again….what if Jesus had not prayed
for the man who only saw people that looked like trees once, He prayed AGAIN! What if Moses went back up the mountain a
second time for ten commandments? What
will happen if you don’t try again!
The bible says ask and it will be given to you; seek and you
shall find, knock and the door shall be open. Matt 7:7
If God has told you something, then continue until HE says,
“stop or no!” We sometimes get
discouraged when we don’t see it the first or fourth time, year, but it was
four hundred years later until Abraham’s seed multiplied and still continuing
today! Continue in His word and you will
see so….
