When you hit R.O.CK. bottom, then and only then does abundant life come!  Disappointments can leave us depressed, sad, isolated, with feelings of doom, and gloom.  Baby, that's not the R.O.C.K. bottom we're discussing but the principle of overflow.

Reflecting over the holidays what precedes greatness or success this passage came to mind with David,

“You come at me with sword and spear and battle-ax. I come at you in the name of God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel’s troops, whom you curse and mock. This very day God is handing you over to me. I’m about to kill you, cut off your head, and serve up your body and the bodies of your Philistine buddies to the crows and coyotes. 1 Sam 17:45-46

I know, you think, she must be confused and off her rocker.  Oftentimes life, education, past accolades tell us we can do it. What happens when life is Bigger than us?  My friend, we cannot do it, but God can do ALL things through us.  David, as an adolescent, recognized humility answers everything.  His constant emphasis was on God, not the situation, his position, condition, or family name but the R.O.C.K.

Rest in God as HE
Opens doors as we
Confess He is
King

My friend R.O.C.K. bottom is a place, the place of humility, when we realize that there are no options, only Jesus.  David learned to lean on God and this reality raised David to not only prominence, but continuous access to the heart of God.  Sure, David made mistakes, we all do, but David relied on the R.O.C.K. when he counted the people, killed Uriah, and took his wife, Bathsheba.  Hitting R.O.C.K. bottom is always relying upon Jesus in our shame, guilt, and blessings just the same.

Oh yes, Abraham and Sarah finally hit R.O.C.K. bottom having a baby at 90, Joseph confessed God would interpret Pharaoh’s dream, and Hezekiah turned to wall for his life.  My friend there are no options only Jesus, when we come to the place of our demise so Christ can rise in us.

Rest in God as HE
Opens doors as we
Confess He is
King

When we learn to live there, the place of humility, access is always available to us.  Right now, you may need an abundance of patience, love, restoration, forgiveness, or provision, God is ready to fill it!  Humility fashions us so we become the cup and Jesus is the fountain pouring what is deficient into us to overflow.

David went on to say, the whole earth will know that there’s an extraordinary God in Israel. And everyone gathered here will learn that God doesn’t save by means of sword or spear. The battle belongs to God—he’s handing you to us on a platter!” 1 Sam 17:47

My friend God is excited, thrilled to be the R.O.C.K. in every celebration, funeral, every moment of our lives. Invite and welcome Him right now.  My friend, know if God doesn't get you out of situations, He's going to bless you through them. So, hit ROCK bottom and let Heaven fill your cup to overflow today!
