LIFE AS A SINGLE

Wow!  Skins and wine! It’s that time of year filled with graduations, weddings, leaving a time of strength to acclimate to new areas can be simultaneously frightening and thrilling.  Change is scary to most.  Yet, in most cases when a new painting is created a new canvas is required. When an author writes a new book, new paper is utilized.  So, in new seasons, why do we attempt to implement old things?

No one sews a patch of unshrunk (new) cloth on an old garment; otherwise the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and the tear becomes worse. ²² No one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the [fermenting] wine will [expand and] burst the skins, and the wine is lost as well as the wineskins. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.” Mark 2:21-22

Naturally we all see the necessity for new wineskin in the passage but my friend our intel, responses, etc., are refined for each new season.  Whether empty nest syndrome, first job, bereavement, when season change we have to learn to F.A.I.L.

Rahab was a prostitute but F.A.I.L. in the lineage of Christ, Naomi discouraged in loss but F.A.I.L. in Boaz as Ruth’s kinsman redeemer, Peter denied thrice but F.A.I.L. more than twice to proclaim Christ!  My friend we all have our moments, but F.A.I.L. in Christ!

We recognize Microsoft always has the same platform, but the download is an upgrade with new additions.  New jobs, places, relationships require the same platform, Heaven, same you, but better intel to handle the blessings the new has to offer.  Oftentimes we compare to P.A.S.T. situations which can stifle the blessing.  The P.A.S.T.:

Acceleration

Sterilizes Dreams
Terminates Present and Future success

Recently, completing year one at my job, daily learning to F.A.I.L. in God allowed me to excel beyond my natural capabilities. The previous industry was dirty, the current clean, pristine, pharmaceutical.  The old was good, but in order for us to surge into the new, our horizons, hearts, minds expand beyond the past level. Our inability to shift, restricts us, creating stress and frustration.  We limit our capacity to receive the new wine or revelation we need to F.A.I.L. in God.

Jesus never performed the same miracle, healing twice but always F.A.I.L. to Heaven. Same platform, same results, new way of fulfilling the feat.  It’s not just a new season, it’s a new you!
