CATALYST

Your faith can move mountains and your doubt can create them. Ever wake up and think oh no!  Sunday morning, I was awakened not by a dog licking my face, child crying, or spouse, but vertigo.  The room spins like a disco ball except it’s internal.  Typically, my response would be rest.  Suddenly, the words push back, so you can push through, and breakthrough…..well that sounds great!

Four years ago before my surgery, that would have been a cake walk. As of late, internal not physical challenges have debilitated me.  As an athlete and coach for almost 30+ years, The Grind was the norm.  So why the word catalyst?  Catalyst is something or someone that accelerates change. When I heard those words my response:

1. As always, I asked friends to pray
   2.  I slowly sat up on my bed
   3.  I began to prepare for the day

Scripture says, faith comes by hearing.  My question is what or who are we listening to?  The Holy Spirit, yourself, or the enemy.  Maturity is the ability to discern which voice is speaking to us.  The Holy Spirit spoke to me and like the women in 2 Kings 4 there was a choice.

Church on Sunday was a challenge because I was on the worship team.  I chuckled and told a teammate at practice, if I go on my knees it may be more than Jesus today.  Teammates don’t complain about pain but we remove element of surprise emergencies.  Yet, those simple words propelled me in worship I danced, I sang I jumped.  From an onlooker they never knew how I felt and my proprioceptors almost flattened me on a song.  After church there were two meetings and I forced myself to go cycling. What? An out of body experience, no an out of your mind experience!

Monday morning, I would love to tell you I felt great, but the vertigo still lingered.  A new normal as I have a trainee at work, but push back, push through, to breakthrough! Oftentimes we believe BREAKTHROUGH comes from:  doors just opening, a word, or a gift, but we have to walk to the door, there are instructions in a word, and we still have to open a gift.  In other words, corresponding actions.  At the end of the work day I still forced myself to go cycling again.

Tuesday morning RESURGENCE! I could feel it in every limb and my inner being. What a sensation! In 2 Kings 4 we see two women the first a widow lost everything, but in order to see victory she had knock on her neighbors doors for empty pots….not a few.  Can you imagine knocking on doors and borrowing pots from your neighbors?  The second woman builds a suite for the traveling evangelist.  She is blessed with a child that dies, but she doesn’t stop there.  The woman returns to the original catalyst to resurrect the child.  The Catalyst in this Christian walk is the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit may speak through a television show, people, or impart to us.  What I can proclaim is I struggled for a season and now I have strength! In the midst of those words the Holy Spirit gave me practical instructions for my personal health.

My friend we all have faith.  The question what is our faith IN? Our faith will move mountains or create them. Some of our obstacles may be self-inflicted….but The Catalyst can show us how to remove the death, the lack, strife, whatever it is.  Please realize pushing is not always physical form, it is vigilantly opposing the obstacle before you. My friend it’s time to divorce your problems and marry God’s promises.  If it doesn’t look, feel, or sound like God, I assure you it’s not.  So step out of the old and into the new, change your response to the obstacle.  I declare whatever has hindered, entangled, overshadowed delayed, denied in this past season is broken, annihilated by the blood of Jesus and His methods, wisdom, protocols replace old ideologies in Jesus name.
