Why Worry? God Promised
How are you doing? Let me know in the comments below.
Being Authentically Crafted is a fact. However, we often
have memory lapses, that we are a phenomena designed by a Phenomenal
Creator.
It reminded me when we experienced the great snow a week
ago. There was such a beautiful snowfall, rather the Saskatchewan Screamer snowstorm and I was
thinking of returning to Pennsylvania in it. Suddenly, I saw a
squirrel in the bird feeder on the deck eating and carrying on without a
care. I reflected on what the Father, said in Matt 6:26-27
Look at the animals (birds). They don’t plant or harvest or store food
in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable
to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to
your life?
I asked God how can we be like that squirrel? So I continued
packing and came back inside. I went to pray again before I left and
I heard a quiet voice say, "if you want to be like the squirrel without a
care, then leave for Pennsylvania tomorrow." My thoughts were, I
won't be at the office, I was scheduled to be back, and what if the roads
aren't really that bad? Worry. Worry in Hebrew means to make
sure like are you sure…, to sweat, be concerned. Worry can make us
weary!
So this made me ask why are we restless or vacillate at times? I
was reminded of how God is more than just our Father but Creator of all, as
stated in Psalms 139:16,
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your
book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had
passed.
I don’t know about you but sometimes I can get overwhelmed. Then I
forget I have a Good Father, that is the Creator of not just nature but
me. Psalm 139 also says,
You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts
even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at
home. 13You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit
me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so
wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know
it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 How precious are your
thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! 18 I
can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! v 12-16;18
When I saw this squirrel in the video above, time stood still, and
peace flooded my mind. It reminded me that there can be chaos around
us but not in us. Then I reflected on the life of Joseph in Gen
37-50. There was a dream God had given him, but for seventeen years we
never see Joseph doubt the dream. He realized that God promised!
How often do we forget God promised. You see Joseph didn't asked for the
dream, God gave Joseph the dream to possess! When God promises us, it is
not a matter of if, but when. Our life instead of a pit, becomes a parade
that we learn to wave and smile in every season knowing God is writing our
blockbuster. We must rest in God's promises that they are Yes & Amen!
A God that
knows our gender before an ultrasound in 3D! A God that saw each detail
of each one of us while simultaneously orchestrating everything else in the
Universe. The God that published each of our stories before our name was
known. His words are so numerous all the books in the world cannot
contain them.
My friend
when has God be wrong? Never! When has God ever failed us?
Never! So why worry? God promised!!!
