LIFE AS A SINGLE

Do you desire Heaven’s results, Grandmas results, or man’s results?  Grandmas are awesome! Grandmas have the warmth in their hearts that clothes every atmosphere. One of my favorite past times was calling my grandmother, meaning our visits, whether sleepovers, walks, simple interactions filled with wisdom.  It reminds me of the One we can always call, Jer 33:3 says,

Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.

Wow! The benefits to call on God are awesome! My friend do you have an ear, to Hear, the HearT of God?  There is an art to L.I.S.T.E.N. and know desires God has for us.  In the 21^st Century life seems to move at the speed of light!  The internet, cell phones, technology allows us to communicate around the world within seconds and WWIII appears to be a tweet away.  We must learn to L.I.S.T.E.N.

There is more created, Google Echo, Siri, noise beyond another human voice, or hobby vying for our attention. So you see the difficulty to hear God?  Yet Jeremiah says for us to call! Do you have questions, need strategy, insight, discernment, or direction? I dare you to put a line in to Heaven. As Churchill said, "Wars cannot be won by evacuation." God's strategy produces VICTORY when we listen.

A few weeks ago, there was a situation in my office, which entirely blindsided with another co-worker.  Thoughts began to descend on my mind. Some people are prone to find the office gossip corner, but I’m sure we never do that? Yet I decided to use the principles of this verse.

1.      Call

a)      Ask God a question
2.      LISTEN
a)      God will respond
b)      Extraordinary thing
c)      Revelation of confined treasures

In the process, God led me to higher authorities, which led to great and mighty things.  As I asked God a question, God directed me to ask my supervisor a question as well.  The interaction led to revelation and treasures of all kinds.  My friend the enemy’s tactics never defeat God’s.  Grandma’s coconut cake, dad’s warm tea, or mom’s cookies are no solution to life’s situation of divorce, bankruptcy, addictions, bulimia, you name it.  Our plug must be connected to Heaven!

A few weeks later my supervisor requested my presence in his office downstairs in ten minutes.  As I finished my work I presumed we were have an “in-training session.”  My supervisor redirected my attention to the conference room with V.P. and President. As a follow-up to my question God gave me new access, a raise and an excellent review.  Flabbergasted!

My friend when is the last time you sent an S.O.S. or 9-1-1 to Heaven? When we trust God, He turns mistakes into masterpieces.  The advice of Heaven, not people, will elevate you above your enemies, accelerate the process, and thrust you into prominence! But beyond calling we must L.I.S.T.E.N.
