John Maxwell said it best we he said, “Successful people…focus on the rewards of success: learning from their mistakes and thinking about how they can improve themselves and their situations.  Oftentimes we are crimpled by our mistakes as parents, friends, co-workers, or family but I like what Oscar Wilder says, "experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.”  That’s right, add it to your resume.  But what does God say about mistakes?

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. Is 55:8

My friend I’m sure you’re like, hold up wait a minute, huh?  Well sin, simply means to miss the mark or in natural terms a mistake.  What does God ask us to do?  He requires us to receive His thoughts.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth….my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.  Is 55:9

Well um, what does that mean?  The one word John the Baptist repetitively stated, REPENT!  Oh no, what do we need to repent for or from?  Repent is actually a really cool word, not dreaded word legalists define.  When we REPENT, God releases upgrades and downloads much like equipment such as: iphones, computers, pretty much any piece of technology.  Repent simply means to come to the Higher way of thinking.

I believe in the words of John Maxwell, when we fumble the ball, burn the cake, or flunk the test in chemistry our M.I.S.T.A.K.E.S. should be:

Messages that give us feedback about life.
Interruptions that should cause us to reflect and think.
Signposts that direct us to the right path.
Tests that push us toward greater maturity.
Awakenings that keep us in the game mentally.
Keys that we can use to unlock the door of opportunity.
Explorations that let us journey where we’ve never been before.
Statements about our development and progress.
If we look in the bible we see people are imperfect prone to produce mistakes in their process to progress.  Noah got drunk, Peter cut off ears, David counted the people, and Martha stayed in the kitchen.  But wait, do we see progress in their process?  Yes, yes my friend.  God loves us and we will fall on our way, as we fumble, and pursue hard after Him! You’ll look back and see as Tyler Perry said, “ I didn’t make mistakes, those were steps to my destiny.”

My friend, we need to gaze beyond to new prospectus outside of our limitations.  My project managers and VPs challenge me in this everyday.  There is a more efficient, more effective solution, when we look beyond the box to Heavenly horizons. Zacchaeus’s ascension in the tree implicated to Jesus his desire for the superior lifestyle.  Anytime we pursue passionately God’s ways, He will visit your home like Zacchaeus.

So how do we receive higher thoughts, simply be humble enough to ask God.  Currently, I’m learning about process engineering.  I went to school for electrical engineering, God, The Master Teacher has the answers, we just have to ask……oh my friend the answer God downloads will launch us to places we’ve never been, people we never met, and ideas out of this world.  God cares about your heart concerns, cast them on Him.  You'll find endless treasures.  I double dawg dare you, try it today!
